How can you tell whether a PP hollow board is UV-resistant? UV-resistant (UV-layer) hollow boards are becoming increasingly popular, but due to their high price, ordinary consumers find it difficult to distinguish between genuine and counterfeit products. They don’t know whether the boards actually contain a UV layer, nor do they understand how effective the UV protection really is.
How can you tell whether a PP hollow board is UV-resistant? Ultraviolet (UV) radiation is a key factor contributing to the aging of PP hollow board materials. However, consumers often aren't sure whether the UV coating actually works as intended. So how do you choose a high-quality UV-resistant PP hollow board? Generally, you can visually inspect the UV coating—paying attention to its evenness—and opt for hollow boards with a thick, uniformly applied UV layer.
Black spots or crystal-like dots appearing on plastic hollow boards may be caused by impurities. The higher the impurity content, the greater the proportion of recycled material it indicates. High-quality PP hollow boards must be clean and transparent.
By examining the flowability of the molten hollow-board material, we find that polycarbonate resin has relatively long molecular chains. When repeatedly melted at high temperatures, its molecular structure is disrupted, leading to the formation of smaller particles. Old materials, after being remelted at high temperatures, experience chain scission, which increases their flowability. Thus, in theory, the better the flowability in the molten state, the poorer the material quality actually is.
