Antistatic Hollow Boards – Technical Overview

How It Works

Antistatic hollow boards are produced by adding a special conductive material during the manufacturing process, which enhances the conductivity of the hollow board. This allows static electricity from contacted products to be discharged, thereby preventing hazards caused by electrostatic discharge (ESD).

Technical Classification – Surface Resistance

ClassificationSurface Resistance Range
Conductive board10³ – 10⁵ Ω
Antistatic board10⁶ – 10¹¹ Ω

Note: Boards with surface resistance below 10⁵ Ω are classified as conductive; those with resistance between 10⁶ Ω and 10¹¹ Ω are classified as antistatic.

Application in the Electronics Industry

In the electronics industry, antistatic hollow boxes are commonly used to effectively prevent damage to electronic components caused by excessive static electricity.

These boxes are particularly valuable for protecting sensitive components such as:

PCB boards (Printed Circuit Boards)

Electronic semi-finished products

During storage and transportation, the combination of antistatic containers with dividers is widely adopted to provide comprehensive ESD protection while keeping components organized and separated.
