Quality differences in hollow boards
As the use of hollow-core panels increases, many different product brands have emerged in the market. Since the quality of the panels varies depending on the manufacturer, we’ve prepared an overview to help the public understand these differences in panel quality.
Differences in Color: Regarding the color variations of hollow-core panels, for instance, even among blue-colored panels, the colors produced by different manufacturers can vary significantly. Some panels tend toward a dark black, others lean more toward white-gray, some may have a deep blue hue, while still others might appear yellowish-black—these color differences can be quite substantial. Moreover, the color also varies depending on the raw materials used. Thus, with high-quality materials, the color typically leans toward a deep blue. A deep blue is often considered the optimal material and represents the best choice in terms of quality. In most factories, we frequently observe that many hollow-core panels either appear overly dark or excessively white. The reason for this is that during the manufacturing process, the color adjustments made by the manufacturer may not have been properly calibrated, leading to variations in color such as reddish, yellowish, or blackish tones—a noticeable difference in color shades.
Differences in Density: Regarding the differences in mass density among hollow boards, the density variations among PP hollow boards can be quite significant. Generally, the higher the density of a board, the better its quality—and consequently, the heavier its weight. Thus, density is directly linked to quality. Typically, when customers inquire about or wish to know the differences in density, we can tell them that these differences are indeed substantial. Density also correlates with differences in quality; as soon as you hold two boards in your hand, you’ll immediately notice the difference in weight and how they feel when they come into contact with your skin.
Since there are products with different brands, colors, thicknesses, and densities available when selecting hollow boards, we must pay extra attention to quality differences during the selection process to avoid compromising product quality.
